Description |
Interview of David C. Driskell on Time at Fisk University; Julie McGee; 2004 Aug 20 In 2004, Julie McGee, author of "David C. Driskell: Artist and Scholar," conducted several interviews with David C. Driskell as part of research for writing the book. According to an email exchange with Julie McGee, she divided the interviews into institutions (where he was both student and educator) which is the rubric chosen to frame the discussion and questions. Prior to each session she provided David Driskell with a longer set of questions, talking points, or historical markers that kept them on track for focused conversation. The interviews were all done in Falmouth, Maine. This interview of David C. Driskell conducted by Julie McGee focuses on his time at the University of Maryland, College Park as Professor of Art (Chairman of the Department of Art (1966-1977). This videotape was digitized through the Digitization Project initiative, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
