The Afro-American Artist; Pyramid Films; 1975 According to David C. Driskell's resume, Prof. Driskell narrates this film and he collaborated with Writer and Producer Carlton Moss on the documentary. Most of the footage was filmed at Fisk University. The film follows the history of Afro-American art from early African art to slavery to freedom and modern times in America. Subjects include: Harmon Foundation; White, Charles, 1918-1979 Scholar Bridget R. Cooks had the 8mm film transferred to both DVD and MiniDV media to preserve it on September 25, 2007. Cooks labels the DVD and MiniDV as "African American Studies" but upon watching the DVD, it is clear that it is "The Afro-American Artist." |
