System of arrangement The first 11 books (including copies, that may have different numbers) were numbered by the artist and are arranged in numerical order. The remaining books are arranged chronologically according to publication year and are numbered following the sequence of the artist's numbered books. Associated archival material is located in Hollinger boxes on the left side of the top shelf of the second book case. Folders within Hollinger Box 01 are all titled "Articles" and are arranged chronologically by the first year of the contents inside and the contents within the folders are also arranged chronologically. Folders within Hollinger Box 02 are arranged chronologically by the first year of the contents inside and the contents within the folders are also arranged chronologically.
Description This sub-gallery contains over 300 books and other publications either exclusively about Faith Ringgold or they feature images of her artwork published from 1967-2016. Highlights include an early draft and a collection of photos that were used in "The David C. Driskell Series of African American Art: Volume III: Faith Ringgold." Researchers will also find a collection of articles about Faith Ringgold from 1971-2015 as well as a video recording and ephemera that are associated with books about Faith Ringgold from 1975-2012.
